Office Manager - Part Time
Help shape a welcoming, well-run games studio as our part-time Office Manager, supporting the team, improving the workplace and bringing organisation, care and creativity to every day.
Would you like to be part of a growing start up games company? We're looking for someone to help look after our small studio on a part time basis, 24 hours per week
As Office Manager, you'll:
· Look after the day to day running of the studio, alongside management
· Organise regular social events for the team (you’d ideally be available some evenings for these, and they’re currently once a month)
· Ensure the office is clean and tidy and monitor the external cleaners
· Make sure the studio is stocked with food, drinks, stationery etc.
· Work with head office to keep fire assessment requirements up to date
· Improve the studio environment (furniture, artwork etc)
· Organise the office layout and oversee office maintenance, liaising with head office to coordinate necessary repairs with external suppliers and contractors
· Proactively check for studio improvements to maintain health and safety standards
· Liaise with the IT company to ensure that the studio technology functions correctly
· Organise meals/drinks for any external visitors
· Arrange travel and accommodation for the team
· Liaise with the accounts department to process invoices, expense claims and credit cards
· Help to manage social media accounts
· Provide regular energy meter readings to head office
· Celebrate employee birthdays/promotions
· Liaise with council to maintain the studio site and surrounding area (parking, bins etc.)
· Occasionally be required to travel to head office in Middlesborough for training purposes
· Organise and distribute the post
· Liaise with head office to onboard new starters
· Assist the management team when needed
· Occasionally be required to collect items/stock for the studio, so your own vehicle would be a bonus
We're looking for someone who:
· Has an interest in games!
· Has excellent administrative, organisational and time-management skills
· Can be flexible and adaptable in the role, especially as the company grows
· Has strong IT and digital skills, including familiarity with office management systems and the Microsoft Office Suite
· Has excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage at senior and board level
· Has a creative approach to problem solving
· Can negotiate and build relationships
· Has attention to detail
· Has a proactive, solutions-based approach to work
· Has knowledge of basic financial administration and HR processes
· Has a familiarity with legislation in the areas of employment, equality, diversity and inclusion, and data protection.
The role is office-based Mon-Wed, with some flexibility, depending on visitors to the studio
